The idea of opening an Etsy shop started the moment my grandmother couldn't sell her hand knitted socks at markets any more, because my grandfather needed hip surgery, and after that a lot of months to recover. My grandparents are avid flea market-sellers and this was a pretty big set back. My grandmother still wanted to knit socks, but without a way to sell them they would take up too much space.

I don't remember how I found Etsy, but a certain day I came with the idea of selling the socks on Etsy, since I knew it was the site for everything handmade. My grandmother was hesitant at first, never having experienced the internet, but wanted to see if it could work so she gave me a couple of socks to sell, both so she could keep on knitting and I could earn some extra money.

Due to bad timing it took a while before sales took of (winter kinda ended when I started) but I kept believing in the shop and kept working on getting my shop out there and my pictures better and after a while sales started to sporadically appear.

It was then that my dad came with the idea of crocheting some items for my shop, to expand my product range. Turned out my dad had 20 years of crocheting experience, but stopped right before I was born, so I never knew about it.

While running my shop I also learned how to knit myself, and knitted a few scarves for my shop, though hopefully I'll be able to knit other things later on as well.
